THE JUDGES

  • Andy Grech is a PE teacher by profession, but his main interests and desire lies in sport management, policy and development. He is currently in his fourth year of doctoral studies. Being a national team athlete himself for a decade spanning (between 2005 and 2015), he took part in various prestigious events around Europe and medaled at two GSSE games... Now at the helm of Athletics Malta, for the past 2 years, is the youngest president of any athletic federation in Europe.
  • Andrew Hogg, a former International footballer with 68 caps for Malta. Hogg has played for clubs in Italy, Cyprus and Greece. He’s also won the National league in Malta 4 times with Valletta FC & Hibernians FC. He is now a mental performance coach (sports psychologist practitioner) for the Malta Football Association and privately with some of the biggest names in local sports.
  • Charles Camenzuli, with 48 years of experience in sport media, is Malta's leading multi-sport journalist. For the past 24 years producer of SPORT EXTRA on NetTV. President of AIPS Europe and vice-president of AIPS - the world association of sports media. Attended all major multi-sport events including 10 Olympic Games, 9 Mediterranean Games and 17 Games of Small States of Europe. Lecturer at the Olympic Academy in Greece and at the Institute of Physical Education and Sport at the Malta University.
  • Deidre Farrugia Former Olympian and Retired Track & Field Sprinter. Competed for Malta for 20 years. Now a qualified personal fitness trainer, mother of two teenage daughters.
  • Gail Rizzo was the 1st female swimmer to represent Malta in the Olympic Games competing in the Atlanta 96’ Games. She’s been a swimming coaching at top level for the past 15 years and also made part of the Beijing 2008 Coaching Staff.
